Kong: Survivor Instinct

I’m pleased to share with you some of the work I did for Kong: Survivor Instinct, developed by 7Levels.
My main responsibilities included creating animations for both large and small monsters, as well as for the main character in more action-packed scenes. Also some small animals which roams in background of scenes.
I also prepared a few blockouts for cutscenes, which were later used as references by the mocap team.
All animations were created using Blender.
I’m very grateful to my teammates for their support and guidance as I joined the project — their help made a big difference. Escpecially Kacper Widzisz who was my Leader and was doing some animations I could not do. Like when Snake monster is swiming in background with nice curves!
I highly recommend checking out the game — it’s available on Steam!

First encounter with the Big Ape. My work was the monster movements.

Start of Final Chase Scene in game. My work was on monsters but also Main characters stunt piece. Also entire choreography of the monster fight was my work under guidance of game developer. We had to keep the pace matching players progress.

Ending of Chase scene. Other from Monsters I did stunt for Protagonist.

In these scene I did bell tower hit by the Monster.

This was also the big one. Entire choreography of the fight for both monsters was my work . Adn also the Protagonists movements.

In this scene I have made animation mostly for cocconed lady but also few movements for main chatacters which were mixed with mocap in this scene.

In this sequence my work was Monsters reaction for helicopter and also helicopter flight as well.

This was big thing, My job was animations both the Protagonist

The way the Snake Monster is collecting radioactive energy from this powerplant was my work. Except VFX which were work of my talented collague.

Another scene with Snake Monster in the background I have to admit that spline type of armature is extremly hard to use. But its movement is done by me.

Introduction to baby monster. This snake creature was animated by me.

Another view on baby snake mosnter. THis one was animated by me using mix of many path follow constraints making tail moving smoothly in perfect loop.

One of enemies dying from shoot in the head. I wanted it to look numb after death and include momentum from running into us.
